WINTERLAX is intended to bring together lacrosse players from Southern Vancouver Island in a recreational 3 on 3 limited contact box lacrosse program.
Our program is located in the "Field House" at the George Pearkes Recreation Complex in Saanich B.C.
The goal of our program is to provide players with a venue to have fun working on their lacrosse skills while continuing to increase their cardio vascular endurance levels for the upcoming season.
All games are Adult Refereed and supervised.
On June 19th Winterlax lost one of its founding members, Brian Mayzes. Brian and Danny Green as a way to develop their son’s and their friends in the game of Box Lacrosse developed the whole concept of Winterlax.
Brian was himself an accomplished lacrosse player developing over the years to become the goaltender of the Coquitlam Junior A team in 1978.
He was a driving force in the Saanich Minor Program and the Head Scout for the Victoria Junior A Shamrocks the past 3 years.
Brian was a big man in stature but had a bigger heart and desire to advance lacrosse. With the loss of Brian the program will be stressed but Danny and Rod have agreed to run it for one more year to honor Brian’s memory.
